Say NO to Cobalt Mining!

In this class we looked at why Laia Dotras from the Goodall Institute said we should recycle mobile phones to help the Chimpanzees in the Congo. Now we know that the forest, which is the home of the chimpanzees, is destroyed so that cobalt can be mined for batteries in our mobile phones and laptops. Our teacher explained the story of Richard and Dorsen, two young boys who were saved from working in the Cobalt mines and now we know that by recycling mobile phones, we are also helping to save children from exploitation. https://issuu.com/flintymaguire/docs/facts_for_schools/24

So we decorated a box to make a mobile phone collection point in the reception area of our school and if we get 30 mobile phones, we can sponsor a Chimpanzee!
