Our Furry 'n' Feathered Friends

Today we learnt some fascinating facts about our furry and feathered friends, the mouse, fox, owl, snake and the Gruffalo! We also included a baby wild boar (piglet) from our local forest...

We talked about what the animals like to eat, how they behave, what they look like and where they build their homes..... we watched some great videos of them 'at home' in the woodlands and hope to see some evidence of them in real-life when we go to the forest!

We used our cognitive skills to categorise the facts under 'diet', 'behaviour', 'appearance' and 'habitat' and then practised the new vocabulary asking each other questions for our guess the animal game.

We needed extra guidance to communicate our ideas in English and had difficulty remembering how to formulate the questions to ask our partners so here is the extra language support the teacher made for the next class to encourage more L2 production:
